When considering fostering you will have likely given a lot of thought to how this might work for your current family.

At Bradford Fostering Service we want to be able to place our vulnerable children into happy and secure homes and would not want anything to have a negative impact on your own family, therefore our social workers will have a discussion with your children through the assessment process about their thoughts about fostering and what this will mean for them.

Your own children can help a foster child settle into your home. They can show them around your home, explain the rules and offer them someone to play with and speak to. It is useful to be aware that children can disclose to other children over an adult, your children need to be aware of confidentiality and what this would mean if this happened. Some of this will be covered during the preparation group.
